Ethan Ford commenced a Bachelor of Photovoltaics and Solar Energy Engineering (Honours) in 2018 as a UNSW Faculty of Engineering Rural Scholar. In 2019, his performance in the course Applied Photovoltaics (SOLA2540) was recognised by the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (SPREE) and earned him the Origin Energy Photovoltaics Prize. In 2020, he was awarded a UNSW Taste of Research Scholarship to quantify the impact of the 2019-20 Australian bushfires on photovoltaic energy production and its financial implications. He is currently in his final honour’s year, completing a minor in electronics and continuing his Taste of Research topic as his Undergraduate Thesis. His supervisor and co-supervisor are Prof. Bram Hoex (UNSW), and Dr. Marius Peters (Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH), respectively. Looking forward, he is interested in opportunities to contribute to the development of the PV manufacturing industry and the implementation of sustainable energy technologies in Australia.
