Jeffrey Meng is a PhD student at the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (SPREE) at the University of New South Wales, under the supervision of Professor Bram Hoex and Dr. Tong Xie. In 2024, he completed his bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Mechatronics Engineering and Computer Science at the University of New South Wales, earning a University Medal. His undergraduate thesis focused on leveraging artificial intelligence techniques to enhance the performance of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) systems. His current research explores the application of large language models (LLMs) in the scientific domain, with a particular focus on material discovery.
