Alex Chen is a PhD student at the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (SPREE) at the University of New South Wales, under the supervision of Professor Bram Hoex and Dr. Tong Xie. In 2024, he completed his bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Mechatronics Engineering and Computer Science at the University of New South Wales, with a Honours Class 1 and the Murray Allen Award. His undergraduate thesis explored whether macro-scale spatial superpositions could be achieved. In particular, with computational simulations of silicon micro-resonators doped with Antimony-123 spin-phonon pairs. His current research explores the application of large language models (LLMs) in the scientific domain, with a particular focus on material discovery.
